origin myth jam board

today we present our summaries for our origin myths. most of the class' origin myths had to do with dealing with Greek mythology. others had their myth pertaining to spirits and animals, and some also made their myth about gods like the sum. my favorite origin out of them of all was the one the shooting star and the sun. it was about falling in love with the star , however he could never be with her because he was too far away. so he made earth and two humans and the moon and at the end he got his wish.

Origin myth summary

Today i had to turn my origin myth project for American literature. after that we had to write a summary about our origin stories because the teacher didn't want to read all of them.i had to make a sort of power-point page for the summary adding photos. i also had to add writing and creative presentation for the slide and have it turned in by tomorrow. as a summary i had an alright day today, however it could be better.

origin myth project

today we took an origin myth test that was alright. i had to read a story then analyse what was happening and answer four questions. i got three out of four right, which means i got a 75%, however we still have this project that will bring up my grade. i made an origin myth that includes a deity and six tyrants. however four of the six betrayed the deity and were punished for their actions.

Origin Myth Rubric

today, we were going over the rubric for the new project about origin myth.the about making our own origin story about how the world was created.we  had to write a page about a fictional story about how the world was created. i made my story about a deity and six tyrants , however one of the tyrants rebelled and tried to become a deity himself. the real deity did let this happen and made a new world without him existing.

Native american notes

today we took notes about the native Americans. first, we had to write down what we already knew about native Americans such as them believing in spirits, facial painting and hunters. next we took notes about the meanings of a myth, legend, and religion. we also did notes about the characteristics of an origin myth, which includes the creation of the earth, humans, plants, animals, religion, social values, custom, and mythology. we extended our notes to do a cluster about ourselves, i wrote about certain parts about me, for example i'm a best friend a sibling and a referee. after we did that we had to answer 3 question about us and a best friends.

Tuesday absent

i was not at school Tuesday.

illuminate notes Pt 2

today we did some more illuminate notes about another video. this video was called 2+2=5, it was about a teacher that was teaching his class the wrong answer of 2+2 . then one kid tried to stand up and say the answer was four, however the teacher reprimanded him and he sat down. another kid came up and said the answer was four and stuck to his answer and got killed for it. the moral of the story is to stick to your opinion even if everyone else does not agree.

illuminate notes

today we were illuminate watching videos and writing summaries and themes of what we thought the meaning of the video. the first video was about a guy in an elevator with a lot of obese people, however the weight limit was 300 pounds. when he had a chance  to get off the elevator he went on another, but the people in the other elevator were sick . the theme of the video is do not judge a book by its cover, because the other elevator looks good however there were a lot of sick people. you be sad about the position you're in now because it could be worse.

Analysis

Today we did an analysis of a nonfiction passage about the Houston Chronicle. The passage was mainly about the dress code in Houston texas where if you disobeyed the dress code you would have to wear navy blue overalls. we had to annotate the Important parts of the passage and words we did not know the definitions of. In the last part of the class, we did an exit ticket however, everyone had different ones that had to be connected with the passage. I had to find the words that I didn't know the meaning of in the passage.

English Notes

Today, we took notes about how to read with a purpose. I learned that when I read with a purpose, I have to determine the purpose, which means I have to find the imperative parts of the text and what the characters are going through. Visualizing what is going on in the passage is also essential along with asking questions to myself about the text, for example how old are the characters. Making assumptions is key for reading as well, However there could be a different topic for the same text. we also read the passage called the house and the first topic was to highlight the information we would need to rob the house. the next topic was to underline the parts if we would buy the house.
